Instituteof Continuing Education wasestablished in 1996 as a function of providing business guidance and teaching managementto continuing education system of Jiangsuprovince. Since its establishment, our college has always adhered to theprincipal of reform and innovation, advancing with the times, and has been committedto exploring the continuing education mode, management method and thecorresponding service specification and standard suitable for national andprovincial conditions and the need of times. Since the 10th Five-Year plan, ourinstitute has successfully run and operated more than 100 training programs forthe computer application ability and foreign language training assessment,military personnel training project, informatization and e-government trainingexamination, professionals further education, small and medium-sized enterprisemanagement workers training, social workers training, professional certificate,certificate of realistic qualifications and construction practice qualification(job skills) certificate, etc. More than 5 million people have been graduated fromall the further education trainings provided by our institute, which promotesthe regional social economic development and lifelong learning for all, and madea positive contribution to the establishment of the study-oriented society. Instituteof Continuing Education is committedto developing continuing education programs with government bureaus andbusiness systems jointly to provide the services and guidance for thecontinuing education system of JiangsuProvince. The main campusorients several main projects to the whole provincial system:
1. Academic Education. It mainly includes theadult higher education, the remote education cooperated with ordinaryuniversities, graduate education, cooperation with the private-operatededucation institutions, etc.
2. Education training for job skills andvocational qualifications certificate, including module combination education“skills + certificate”, putting up academic and non-academic overpasseducation, certificate of continuing education, job skills, professionalqualification certificate and short-term training programs.
3. Information technology and language trainingprograms. It mainly includes the training and examination of modern informationtechnology and English, Japanese and other foreign language grades.
4. Certificate training and assessment projectsfor construction industry. It mainly includes construction workers, qualityinspectors, and construction workers’ certificate training and continuingeducation for post certificate.
5. Service projects for community education andsocial examination. We provide related services and guidance for the baseconstruction and project operation for the whole provincial communityeducation, platform construction for learning resources and network,theoretical researches and team training programs. We also provide supportservices for all kinds of social examinations such as national judicialexamination and architectural examinations.
The institute has four section rank departments.Each department is in charge of the education training programs according tothe mode of project operation and the comprehensive ability of each departmentindependently. It also helps provide the operation maintenance work of relatedprojects and regular service work in accordance with the requirements for theinstitute.
