It was sunny and clear on 27th and 28th of October, the 5th sports meet for both students and teachers was held on the stadium of Yingtian campus. On the morning of27th, the opening ceremony kicked off the sports meet in a grand and livelyatmosphere, leaders, directors of departments, teachers and students participated, the opening ceremony was chaired by Ms.JinLixia, vice president of the university. Accompanied by the music of Sportsman March, processions of students and teachers of various characteristics marched by the rostrum. After a solemn flag-raising ceremony, a lively and dynamic performance by student dancers kicked off the sport meet.
President Cui delivered an enthusiastic speech, encouraging all the athletes to carry forward the sportsmanship on the arena. Then, representatives of referees and student athletes made a vow, guaranteeing the objectivity and fairness. Peng Kunming,secretary of party branch declared the commencement of the sport meet, which cheered up the whole arena. Teachers and students enjoyed themselves by releasing their enthusiasm and passion on the playground.
On the morning of 28th, organizers held a meeting at the gym of Yingtian campus,discussing about and selecting winning groups according to a series of indexes,at 11:30, the sports meet came to its closing ceremony, leaders of the university, organizers, some teachers and all athletes were present. Vice president, You Jiachun chaired the ceremony. Jin Lixia expressed her congratulations to all the groups and individuals who had achieved excellent results in the sports meet and thanked all the teachers and students who had made active contribution. She said it was grand event saturated with youth and brilliant achievements; she encouraged students to shoulder the responsibility of the youth in the new age.After that,leaders awarded the winners.
335 students,35 distant learners, 550 teachers attended the meet, involved in 18 individual contests and 8 collective contests, after s stiff competition, schools of architectural engineering, commerce, electro mechanical engineering took the top three.
