On March 16 to 21, the Competition of School Counselors’ Vocational Ability was held in JSOU. The competition aims to build a professional team of school counselors and experts. There were 5 sections included——a written test, a case study, a class meeting, talking with students, and a themed speech.
The judges were Jin Lixia, the Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, Xie Dongbing, the Minister of Propaganda Department, Hu Dahua, the Dean of Discipline Construction Division, Qian QI, the Dean of Education Division, Feng Guogang, the Dean of HR Department, Shi Canfang, the Dean of School of Marxism, Chen Guojiu, the Vice Dean of Office of Teaching Quality Management, Ji Haiju, the Dean of Student Status Management Office, Zou Jia, the Secretary of Youth League Committee. The heads and students representatives from each college, and all the school counselors watched the competition.
There were altogether 25 school counselors attended the competition. After 5-day competition, two counselors won the first prize, four the second prize, and six the third. The competition was finished on the evening of March 21.
On the closing ceremony, Jin Lixia congratulated the winners, and thanked the schools and departments for their support. She said that JSOU had been attaching great importance to the team building of school counselors and this competition provided a platform for the school counselors to demonstrate their capacity and talents, and provided opportunities for them to learn and to improve themselves.
