On May 2 afternoon, the 2018 University Scientific Research Working Conference was held in the lecture hall on Ding Huaimen Campus. The conference was hosted by Vice President Wu Guanglin. Vice President Wang Wei announced the Recognition Decision for the Excellent Researchers. All the management staffs and teaching staffs attended the conference.
Party Secretary Wang Jianming delivered a speech underlining the significance of scientific research work to the university. He pointed that the quality of scientific research and talents cultivation is the key to the core competence of universities, and we are supposed to strengthen the cooperation with enterprises and business, and get more involved in international communication by attending and hosting international academic conferences. He sang high praise for the 15 teachers who applied for the 2018 National Social Science Fund and Natural Science Fund.
President Cui Xinyou made a speech reviewing the achievements in the past 5 years, and setting a goal for the university scientific research work in the next phase. He analyzed the roles of teaching quality, scientific researching quality and faculty quality played in enhancing the core competence of our university by citing the data of higher education rankings of ARWU, THE and QS. He called upon everyone to seize the development opportunity, conduct teaching research and improve the talents cultivation quality.
Vice President Wu Guanglin made a speech themed “Lead the High-quality Transformation Development by Carrying on Innovation-driven Policies”. After that, he interpreted the 12 newly issued science research working policies, and signed assignment books with each department.
