On May 17-18, Academic Annual Conference Entitled “ Accelerate the Pace of Learning Society Construction—Educational Transformation And Learning Innovation in New Era” was held in JSOU. More than 130 experts and researchers from over 30 universities, community colleges, research institutes and periodicals attended the conference. Professor Wang Jianming, the Party Secretary of JSOU met with the guests and had a friendly talk with them on curriculum development, team building, and academic communication, etc.
Professor Wu Guanglin, the vice president of JSOU made a welcome speech, pointing out the significance of this conference in adult education research and learning society construction in a transition era of adult education.
The conference focused on the theme of “Accelerate the Pace of Learning Society Construction—Educational Transformation And Learning Innovation in New Era”. Zhang Shaowen, Secretary of China Adult Education Association made an academic report entitled “Implement the Spirit of 19th National Congress of CCP; Boost the Development of Adult Education and Construction of Learning Society”. Lan Yaming, vice president of JSOU made a speech entitled “Transition Development and Quality Pursuit of Open University”. Professor Gao Zhimin from East China Normal University made an academic report entitled “Discipline System Theory of Adult Education”.
At the discussion session, three seminars were available——“Continuing Education and Learning Society”, “Lifelong Learning and Learning Society Revolution”, and “Community Education and Learning Society”. Attendees had heated discussions on topics of continuing education research focuses, lifelong learning theory development, community education practice, and the relationship among continuing education, lifelong learning, community education and learning society, etc.
The conference was fruitful and meaningful. It laid foundation of Chinese adult education research, and functioned as a platform of academic exchange and achievements demonstration for the educators and young scholars.
