The Inauguration Ceremony of Opera Art Expert Committee of JSOU and the Appointment Ceremony for Distinguished Professors Held in JSOU

On July 8, the Inauguration Ceremony of Opera Art Expert Committee of JSOU and the Appointment Ceremony for Distinguished Professors was solemnly held in JSOU. Masters of eleven Chinese operas attended the ceremony and were appointed as distinguished professors of JSOU. The committee will function as a think tank of opera art education, make blueprint for the academic development of opera art education, and reform the mode of opera talents cultivation.

President Cui Xinyou delivered a speech introducing the transformation and development of JSOU. He put forward that JSOU will not only set up opera art courses and cultivate opera talents, but also promote the opera culture development via distant education technology, improve people’s aesthetic taste and ability, and construct rich and beautiful Jiangsu.

Principal Li Hongliang fully recognized JSOU’s efforts in inheriting and innovating opera culture. He attached great importance to the cultivation of young opera talents, and pointed that as the only university offering opera art degree education, JSOU provides opportunities for opera actors and practitioners to enhance their academic level and ability without quitting their job and stages, with a flexible study mechanism based on distant education technology and credit bank system.

Vice President Lan Yaming made a speech at the closing ceremony. He highly evaluated the art masters for their sense of responsibility to inherit opera culture, and appreciated them for their help to the construction of opera art courses of JSOU. The cooperation between JSOU and the opera masters will integrate opera art into people’s life, and promote the prosperity of local culture.
