On September 21, the 2018 Freshmen Military Training Closing Ceremony and the Commencement Ceremony was held at Yingtian Campus. Party Secretary Wang Jianming, and President Cui Xinyou as well as other university leaders were present. Hong Xingjun, leader from the PLA Nanjing Garrison was invited to attend the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Jin Lixia, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of JSOU.
Wang Jianming, the Party Secretary of JSOU presented a silk banner to Hong Xingjun, expressing our sincere gratitude to the military troops for their support in freshmen military training.
President Cui Xinyou address the millennial young men with a humorous speech entitled “Learn to study. Learn to Work. Learn to Behave. Learn to Share”. When he called the names of the two youngest freshmen, cheers and applause burst from the audience. Then he cited the words in Karl Marx’s high school graduation paper——“The Youth’s Consideration When Choosing A Career”, and encouraged the young people to dream big, and to bravely undertake the mission of bringing about a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. He raised hopes for the freshmen, wishing them to study well, work well, behave well and get along well.
Vice President You Jiachun announced “The Decision of Commending the Outstanding Individuals and Collectives in Military Training”. The university leaders presented certificates to the awardees.
Vice President Niu Yutao announced the name list of the total 116 scholarship winners. The university leaders congratulated the winners and presented awards to them.
Hong Xingjun, leader of the PLA garrison, highly evaluated the military training achievements, and hoped the students to keep high spirits and exerted their talents and passion into their study.
Yin Xing, ateacher representative sent best regards to the freshmen from the teachers, and wished them to set great goals and work hard for them.
Li Juan, the alumnus representative encouraged the young students to prepare themselves for the future career by setting clear goals and pursue their goals with perseverance.
Hu Chenglong and Huang Jiyuan, the student representatives expressed their hearted thanks to the military instructors, and called on their fellow students to grow up into enterprising young men by setting firm goals, seizing the time, taking the challenges and working hard.
