On December 15 to 17, the 2018 FLTRP Cup National English Speech Contest of Jiangsu Area was held in JSOU. 187 contestants from 64 vocational colleges participated in the contest, and the winner of this year will have access to the final national contest, and compete with the four-year undergraduate participants from all over the country.
On the opening ceremony, Zhang Xiao, vice president of JSOU delivered a welcome speech and wished success for the contestants. Leaders from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Jiangsu Foreign Language Teaching and Research Committee, and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press delivered speeches as well.
Having gone through the preliminary contest and the intermediary contest, the contestants in the final competition will give a impromptu speech on the randomly drawn topic, and then be charged with questions raised by the judges.
This is the eighth year in which JSOU sponsored the FLTRP Cup. JSOU aims to provide a platform for the teachers and students to demonstrate their talents and achievements, and provide opportunities for them to improve their learning and teaching ability.
