Yang Zuotang, Famous Calligrapher Donated Books to JSOU Library

On December 25, Ms Yang Zuotang, the famous calligrapher donated books to JSOU. The donation ceremony was held in the library of Dinghuaimen East Campus. Jiang Liwen, the associate librarian, and Niu Yuxing, the party secretary of Retirement Office were present at the ceremony.

Ms Yang, born in 1848, is the chairman of Yang Jianhou Foudation, member of Xu Beihong Research Council, and member of Jiangsu Calligraphers’ Association. Her father Yan Jianhou, a famous painter, was the student of Xu Beihong, the outstanding painter and art educator in China. 

Ms. Yang devotes her life in Chinese calligraphy and is enthusiastic about public welfare. The books she donated include “Sketch Set of Yang Jianhou”, “Beijign University Font Bank Written by Yang Zuotang”, and “Li Qingzhao’s Wash Jade Verse Written by Yang Zuotang”, etc.

The books will be treasured in the library and well studied by calligraphy learners and researchers.
