On January 13, the 40th Anniversary & Homecoming Day for the first generation of alumni of JSOU was held on Dinghuaimnen Campus. Jin Lixia, deputy party secretary and vice president of JSOU, You Jiachun, vice president, the heads of Office of Students’ Affairs, teachers and 60 alumni graduating in 1979 participated in the celebration.
Jin Lixia delivered a speech on behalf of JSOU. She warmly welcomed the alumni coming back to the university after 40 years, and looked back to the 40 years’ development of JSOU ever since its foundation in 1979. She appreciated the alumni for their perseverance, diligence and desire for knowledge at that time, congratulated them on the achievements they made at their positions, and highly evaluated their efforts for enriching the history of JSOU and bringing good reputation to JSOU. She also wished the alumni would keep learning and enjoyed the education and courses for the aged, and make contribution to the development of JSOU.
Representatives of alumni recalled their learning experiences in JSOU 40 years ago. They were young, ambitious and dreaming big at that time, and now, they have become the backbone in different businesses and fields, and have devoted themselves to the development and opening-up of China. They thanked JSOU and the government for giving them opportunities to study and change their life, thanked the teachers for helping them to learn knowledge and skills, and thanked alma mater for inviting them to be present at the celebration. Afterwards, they sent the graduate photo as a gift to JSOU. In return, leaders of JSOU presented the alumni their student registration cards as gift which kept their school record and photos when they were young.
