On October 16, Wang Wei, vice president of JSOU went to Suzhou Open University and Wuzhong Open University and had a field investigation on how to establish the culture and reputation of new-type open universities.
Tao Yiyi, director of Management Committee of Suzhou Open University, and Dai Hanxin, vice director of the committee, introduced the work of SZOU in construction, operation, features, culture promotion, integration with local culture and so on, and reported on the problems they encountered and their solutions.
In Wuzhong Open University, vice president Yang Bing introduced the history and development of the university, as well as the campus scale, enrollment situation, training programs, brand construction and Sun Wu (ancient militarist in Spring and Autumn Period) culture education. The investigation group also inspected the construction of the training base in WZOU.
Wang Wei highly evaluated the achievements of the two universities, especially for their efforts of cultivating talents and serving the communities. He suggested that more efforts be put in enhancing the quality and ability of culture construction, innovating service concept and means of service, and bringing the edges of all resources into full play.
