On November 17, conference for the establishment of JSOU Alumni Council was held in the lecture hall of Dinghuaimen Campus. President Cui Xinyou, vice president Jin Lixia, and You Jiachun, as well as the members of the alumni council of each secondary school, alumni representatives, and members of preparatory working groups were present at the conference.
At the conference, Cui Xinyou delivered a speech of “Together for a Better Future of High-Level Open University”, and said each alumnus is a business card of his mother school and reflects the culture and style of the school. JSOU has its unique characteristics such as different running orientation, large numbers of students, and emphasis on cultivating students’ practical ability and comprehensive ability. In view of those characteristics, the alumni are expected to contribute their efforts to the construction of a high-level open university by working together with JSOU in promoting talents cultivation, and serving the society, so as to create a better future for their mother school, and form a unique education system and alumni culture of JSOU. In the end, he hoped all alumni councils to strengthen the construction of their organizations, and the construction of the platform of alumni communication for the development of JSOU as a community of common interest.
Vice President You Jiachun announced “The Agreement of Establishing Branches of Alumni Councils”. Liu Tao, director of Alumni Council Office made a report on preparatory work of Alumni Council establishment. Zou Jia from School of Design made a speech on behalf of secondary colleges expressing that they would continue to strengthen the construction and internal management of alumni councils, innovate working mechanism, better alumni service, and contribute more to the development of their mother school. Representatives of alumni also made speeches expressing their willingness to unite with more alumni for the better future of their mother school.
