On December 5, the seventh JSOU College Students’ Debate Contest had its semi-final and final competition on Yingtian Campus. More than 200 students watched the contest. Jin Lixia, vice president, Cheng Lei, deputy director of Propaganda Department, Qian Qi, director of Education Department, Zhang Xuan, director of Management Center of Credit Bank, Liu Tao, director of Office of Students’ Affairs, Lu Fuyi, former director of Organization Department, Yin Xing, deputy secretary of Youth League Committee, and Gong Wansong, associate professor from Public Management Department were present as judges.
Teams selected from six secondary schools participated in the contest. After 3 rounds and 6 sessions of debating, the team of School of Information Engineering and the team of School of Art entered the final competition.
The topic for the final session is “Which is more important for young people when fulfilling their dreams and missions, the process or the result?” The smart arguments of the two teams won applause and cheers from the audience who showed great interest and raised questions after the debate. In the end, School of Art won the championship.
