On January 11, vice president Zhang Xiao visited Wujin Open University and Changzhou Open University and made a field investigation. Qian Qi, director of Education Department, and Wang Xiaojun, General Engineer from Information Construction Department participated in the investigation.
In Changzhou Open University, Zhang Xiao gave a lecture themed “Discipline Construction and Development” at the faculty training seminar, elaborated on the positioning, target, construction, and progress of open university, and pointed out that discipline construction is the key and foundation of the development of JSOU.
At the research colloquia, Changzhou Open University introduced their featured projects construction, talents cultivation reform, integration of production and education, and courses construction, etc.
Afterwards, the investigation group went to Wujin Open University and listened to the introduction of university management, faculty building, and discipline construction.
At the end of investigation, Zhang Xiao expected the branch open universities of JSOU to give their regional advantages and resources to a full play, and level up degree education by means of open learning platform and credit bank, explore new mode of teaching, and try to set an example for the whole system.
