On January 31, Jiangsu Education Department organized a video working conference on epidemic prevention and control for all universities in Jiangsu Province, aiming to carry out the deployment by the provincial government and the Ministry of Education. The conference again clarified the prevention and control responsibilities of universities and colleges, reviewed their measures and implementation to make sure a success of fighting against the epidemic.
Ge Daokai, head of Jiangsu Education Department, and the chief of leading group of schools’ prevention and control presided over the conference and delivered a lecture. Zhou Minghao, deputy director of the Provincial Health Committee of Jiangsu, and the chief of provincial leading group of epidemic prevention and control was present and made a speech.
The conference made deployment for the epidemic prevention and control work and took it a critical task for all the universities and colleges. Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU attended the conference at the sub-session in JSOU.
Ge Daokai claimed that the epidemic prevention and control of Jiangsu universities and colleges by far had been conducted in an orderly and effective way under the leadership of the provincial government and the Ministry of Education. However, the situation was still severe and complex. He attached great importance to the prevention and control work which determined when and whether we can achieve the success. He asked the universities to take the opportunity of school suspension, make effective plans according to their different situations, take close measures in sterilizing and quarantine, and make preparation for online teaching. He wished all the teaching staff and students should be aware of their responsibilities and devote themselves into the fight against the epidemic.
Zhou Minghao introduced the situation of epidemic prevention and control in Jiangsu Province and the progress of relevant research, and made requirements for the prevention work of universities. Afterwards, Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University and Nanjing Information and Technology Vocational Institute made reports on their prevention.
After the video conference, Cui Xinyou made deployment for the prevention and control work in JSOU. He said that JSOU had taken active measures,such as organizing working group, making effective plans, investigating the flow of staff and students, cleaning up the environment and educating teachers and students.
Jin Lixia, deputy party secretary and vice president, Niu Yutao, vice president and other members of the prevention and control work group of JSOU attended the video conference.
