On May 20, the agreement signing ceremony for “Pukou Economic Development Zone & Jiangsu Open University Strategic Cooperation” was held. Officials of Pukou District Government, leaders of JSOU as well as the managers from businesses were present at the ceremony.
Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU pointed that as a strategic move of JSOU, to locate the new campus in Qiaolin New Town facilitates JSOU to explore a new talents training mode by setting the school in the development zone and building the disciplines and majors in industrial chain. He said that in a new era of industrialization, informationization and intellectualization, JSOU strives to cultivate talents to meet the needs of industries and the development zone. Cao Lianhai, the governor of Pukou District Government said that the strategic cooperation between JSOU and the development zone has great and far-reaching significance. He stressed that the cooperation promotes the development of both sides by integrating resources and attracting more qualified businesses, and the district government will spare no efforts to support the construction of the new campus.Zhang Xiao, vice president of JSOU and Tong Jinzhou, director of the administrative committee of the development zone signed the strategic cooperation agreement. Qian Qi, director of Academic Affairs Department, Chen Chong, director of Enrollment Department, and Zhu Yi, dean of the School of Information Engineering respectively signed the cooperation agreement with five prospective partners.
