On the afternoon of June 12, Nanjing Tech University (NTU) and JSOU signed agreement on cooperation of cultivating graduates with Master’s Degree. Leaders from NTU and JSOU were present at the ceremony. They are: Rui Hongyan, Party secretary of NTU, Qiao Xu, president of NTU, Tong Maodi, director of UTU School Office, Zhang Guangming, dean of NTU Graduate College, Gu Yongdong, director of Students Enrollment Office of UTC Graduate College, Wang Jianming, Party secretary of JSOU, Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU, Zhang Xiao, vice president, Yang Zhuo, director of JSOU School Office, Tang Rong, director of Discipline Construction Department, as well as directors and teachers from School of Architecture Engineering, School of Information Engineering, School of Environment and Ecology, and School of Public Management. Zhang Xiao, vice president of JSOU presided over the ceremony.
Zhang Xiao first introduced the history, management philosophy, running characteristics and the “three-step development strategy” of JSOU, expressed earnest wishes of JSOU to be certified to confer the bachelor’s degree and doctor’s degree, and then appreciated UTC for their support and help for a long time.
After that, Qiao Xu, president of UTC and Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU signed the framework agreement on cooperation of cultivating graduates with Master’s Degree.
Rui Hongyan, the Party secretary of UTC congratulated on the two universities’ cooperation and brought forward expectations. He said that JSOU is following a path to achieve high-quality development, which is tough but with bright future. He wished that the cooperation would be carried out with high quality, and the two universities would join hands and make bigger contribution to education of Jiangsu Province.
Wang Jianming, the Party secretary of JSOU welcomed the delegation of UTC and thanked them for injecting new vitality and philosophy for the development of JSOU. He stressed the significance of co-cultivating graduate students with Master’s Degree. According to him, JSOU, on its way to transform and explore the path for building a new-type and high-quality undergraduate open university, needs to learn experiences of cultivating graduate students from UTC. To balance the increasing demand of Chinese people for education of high quality, and the insufficient and unbalanced development of education, more good-quality learning resources are needed to be offered and distributed. With the help of UTC, JSOU has the confidence of offering good graduate education.
