On June 24, JSOU held the congress of party representatives. All party members, heads from each department and school, and leaders of democratic parties were present at the congress. Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU presided over the meeting.
Wang Jianming, party secretary of JSOU made a speech entitled Promoting the Construction of High-level Open University through High-quality Party Building. Wang indicated that the staff has had a clear understanding of the target and strategy of building a high-level open university. In a period when the epidemic prevention and control will be normalized, the Party building has to be unfolded around the core work and development of the university. All party members must be soberly aware of the complexity and toughness of the situation, stay true to the mission, and take their responsibilities to overcome difficulties and achieve results.
Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU made a speech entitled Profound, Efficient, Powerful, and Harmonious: Constructing the High-level Open University. Cui pointed that now JSOU is in a severe test for its capability of leading, running and serving. Facing the education reform accelerated by the epidemic outbreak, online learning is having both opportunities and challenges. The Party building is to take the lead, seize the opportunity, take the challenges and strive to achieve a breakthrough in both epidemic prevention control and the development of JSOU. He stressed that we must comprehend and implement the policies and strategies in-depth brought forward by the Party Committee, accelerate the construction of systems, teaching staffs, and new campus, and devote more efforts to implementing policies, promoting degree education, exploring new running mode, building smart campus, and conducting scientific researches. Besides, a harmonious and warm working environment must be created to ensure individuals’ opportunity to develop and excel. He encouraged all teaching staff to make their own contribution to the development of JSOU with strong confidence and beliefs.
After the session, five delegations had group discussion on issues of promoting two-level management, accelerating the system building and management modernization, implementing the missions brought forward at the congress, and building of party branches.
