On September 10, teacher’s day, JSOU held the commencement ceremony of new campus construction in Pukou Economic Development Zone, Qiaolin New City, Nanjing. The ceremony marked a concrete step for JSOU to realize new open university dream in the new era. Wang Jianming, the Party secretary of JSOU attended the ceremony and Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU gave a lecture. All the other university leaders, members of the new campus construction headquarters and heads from each department and school attended the ceremony. Vice president Niu Yutao presided over the ceremony.
President Cui Xinyou gave a lecture on the ceremony, in which he firstly expressed greetings to all the teachers. Cui indicated that it was remarkable to hold the commencement ceremony on teacher’s day. In the new era, maintaining a high-level university required not only noble and excellent teachers, but also modern buildings. Noble and excellent teachers symbolized the spirit of university while modern buildings were the places where the spirit rests. The new campus construction aimed to provide a platform for skilled and talented teachers who were dedicated to civil education, life-long education and learning society. He also expressed the gratitude to all the departments and staff concerned. The new campus construction would be in perfect order with their support and dedication.
At 10.08 am, Wang Jianming and Cui Xinyou unveiled the pile foundation together. Wang Jianming announced the beginning of JSOU new campus construction. Wang also extended his regards to members of the new campus construction headquarters and all the staff present, and shook hands with them.
With the first pile driven into the ground, JSOU pressed the start key of new campus construction. JSOU would cherish the opportunity of new campus construction and follow the guideline of building a learning society with civil learning and life-long learning.
