On November 11, the close ceremony of new staff training was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of Dinghuaimen campus. Wang Jianming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, Cui Xinyou, President and Wu Guanglin, vice president attended the ceremony. The graduation ceremony was presided over by Feng Guogang, director of the Personnel Department, and attended by all the new staff.
First of all, six new teachers shared their ideas and experiences of the training. After that, Wang Jianming and Cui Xinyou issued graduation certificates to the trainees.
Cui Xinyou said that JSOU attaches great importance to the training of new staff. The school leaders participated in the whole process, and the functional departments carefully organized and planned this training, which laid a solid foundation for the growth and development of new staff. Cui Xinyou put forward four hopes for the new staff in his speech. Firstly, the new staff are expected to keep learning and make learning a way of life. At the celebration conference of the 80th founding anniversary of the CPC Central Committee, general secretary Xi Jinping put forward that China's Communists must advance to the future by learning. Jiangsu Open University is a new-type university serving the whole people's life-long learning. Its staff members should be good at learning, and strive to be models of lifelong learning and models of constructing a learning society. Secondly，everyone is expected to committed to the career of JSOU, by cultivating the spirit of excellence and craftsmanship in the process of teaching, scientific research, management, technical services and other posts, and to integrate personal struggle into the development of the university, society, and our nation. Only with faith in their hearts can they have strength at their feet. As a new type of University born with the reform and opening up, JSOU takes it a mission to follow a reforming, opening-up, and innovative path, combining the development of the university cause with serving the society, and creating its unique running characteristics. Thirdly, to build a prominent university culture with respect and tolerance plays an important role in the development of a new-type university. It is the respect for knowledge, science, and talents that matters in creating an equal, tolerant and harmonious university culture, which helps to lead the social trends and improve the social morality. It is hoped that all the new staff will adhere to the principle of respect and tolerance, display their individuality and talents in their respective posts, make contributions to the construction of a new-type university, and realize their own values in the continuous promotion of the high-quality development of the University. Fourthly, to strengthen the body and live a positive life is the foundation of one’s career development and happiness. Cui encouraged all the new staff to maintain their own interests and hobbies, balance their work and life, so as to become a positive, happy and optimistic person and build a university with positive energy.
