On the morning of November 8th, the 2020 Alumni Homecoming Ceremony was held on Yingtian campus. Current and former school leaders, heads of relevant functional departments, staff of Alumni Association, representatives of alumni, teachers, retired staff and students gathered together. The ceremony was presided over by Jin Lixia, deputy secretary of the JSOU Party committee and vice president.
Wang Jianming, Secretary of the Party committee of JSOU, extended a warm welcome to the alumni and heartfelt congratulations on the reunion of teachers and students. In his speech, he said that since the establishment of Jiangsu Radio and Television University in 1979, more than 800,000 applied talents have been trained for the construction and development of Jiangsu, contributing valuable talents and strength to Jiangsu's economic growth and social development. Over the past 41 years, the school has always taken self-improvement and striving as its motto, adhering to the development concept of lifelong education, innovation driven, open cooperation, system co-construction, and highlighting characteristics, so as to continuously improve the level and quality of the university. At present, the new campus of the university has started construction in Pukou Development Zone of Qiaolin new town, Pukou District, Nanjing, which indicates that JSOU has made a big leap to realize its new-era open university dream of opening up online while operating on campus.
President Cui Xinyou introduced the development and current situation of JSOU to all alumni on the topic of Regain Memories, Regenerate Friendship, Unite Strength and Share Future. Recalling the development of JSOU, he summed up the experience of university running, and put forward great expectations for the future. Over the past 41 years, the leading groups have led all the staff to overcome various difficulties, carry forward with heavy load, open up new ideas, and make clear the goal of building a high-level Open University. It has drawn a blueprint for the future development, and has established the three-step development plan, four development strategies and twelve key projects. In the course of hard exploration, we have constantly pushed forward the cause of the University, built a new type of university with independent school running autonomy, and realized the transformation of university function and running system.
Shen Mingzhi, deputy Procurator General of the People's Procuratorate of Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, majoring in law and graduated from Jiangsu Radio and TV University in 2001, recalled the days when he took the open education, learning while working. According to him, the advanced school running philosophy, scientific management, well-equipped facilities, beautiful campus and professional teachers helped him with his future career success. Huang Mingyong, a member of the Vehicle Management Department of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital and an alumnus of the 2019 Administration and Management major, described his experience in fighting the epidemic in Wuhan, and sincerely expressed his gratitude to JSOU for providing concern, encouragement and support during his study and work. Five alumni from Nanjing Kangni Electromechanical Co., Ltd. talked about their outstanding achievements in China’s high-speed rail construction, and presented to JSOU the model of China's first commercial maglev train of which they participated in the design and manufacture. Jiang Ning, executive vice president of Jiangsu Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and 1994 alumnus majoring in Water Heating and Ventilation, expressed his gratitude to his alma mater for the help in his learning. He hoped that the students in school would not forget their mission and erect correct values and ideals and strive for the future.

Wang Jianming, chairman of the Education Development Foundation of JSOU, Cui Xinyou, chairman of the Alumni Association, Gu Xinhua, chairman of the Foundation, Jin Lixia and You Jiachun, vice presidents of the Foundation, jointly started the launch of the information service system of the Foundation together with all the directors and supervisors of the Foundation.
