President Cui Xinyou Investigated in Shanghai Open University

On November 4, President Cui Xinyou went to Shanghai Open University to carry out investigation on the preparation of compiling the “14th five-year plan“ and the cooperation and development of open universities in the Yangtze River Delta region. Vice president Wu Guanglin and Zhang Xiao, as well as comrades from the School Office, Personnel Department, Publicity Department, Academic Affairs Department, Discipline Construction Department, Science and Technology Department, Information Construction Department and Enrollment Department and other relevant departments participated in the survey.

Yuan Wen, President of Shanghai Open University, welcomed Cui Xinyou and his party. In the communication, responsible comrades from equivalent departments of Shanghai Open University introduced in detail the compilation ideas and key tasks of the 14th five-year plan of Shanghai Open University. Then, the two sides exchanged and discussed common issues such as the goal of constructing first-class open universities with regional characteristics, the core indicators to be achieved during the 14th five-year plan period, the short board that the school needs to strengthen urgently, and the advantages that open universities have in serving the local development. Finally, Shanghai Open University introduces its practice of setting up evaluation systems, constructing degree education system , teaching staff construction, building smart campus and enlarging school running scale. During the investigation, Cui Xinyou and his party also inspected the construction of the information center and the campus culture construction of Shanghai Open University.

Cui Xinyou said in the summary that Shanghai Open University has provided valuable experience for JSOU in various aspects especially in management philosophy and information construction. He required all functional departments participating in the research to integrate the valuable lessons into our compilation of the 14th five-year plan. He stressed that under the dual background of the construction of a learning society and the arrival of the post epidemic era, our university will face more opportunities and challenges. By making full use of the 14th five-year plan, which is a window period and a critical period for the development of open universities, our school's development will certainly go to a new level.
