On October 25, Wu Zhongning, deputy principal of JSOU, deans of Social Education Department, School of Art and other departments and teacher representatives of JSOU attended the opening ceremony of a public service class named Social Insurance Connected with Art Class and joined in the first class. The public service class was arranged in Pukou Citizen Center, held by People’s Government of Pukou District and JSOU, directed by Nanjing Social Insurance Management Center and undertaken by Pukou Social Insurance Management Center, JSOU School of Art and Youth Calligraphers Association of Pukou.
The opening ceremony began with performances given by aged students, which perfectly displayed the achievements of art education for the aged in communities. Zhang Fei, JSOU art teacher, doctor candidate specialized in calligraphy inscribed for the public service class over the ceremony.
Huang Yilan, deputy dean of School of Art signed the strategic cooperation agreement with Gu Jun, deputy director of Pukou Social Insurance Management Center, which marked the official beginning of public service cooperation. Wu Zhongning gave a lecture at the end of the ceremony, in which he stated that JSOU had long shouldered the responsibility of serving the life-long study as well as community education. Through the cooperation between JSOU and Pukou Social Insurance Management Center, both sides would focus on their advantages and innovation, put effort into realizing mechanism of sustainable development. Also, JSOU and Pukou Social Insurance Management Center would promote their cooperation between university, district and community and dedicate to improve the cultural education for Pukou District.
The public service class is a pilot trial for JSOU to apply cooperation between university, district and community in social education, which aims to build cultural education brand and cultivate life-long learning projects for Nanjing Jiangbei New Area. In the future, JSOU School of Art will work closely with Pukou Social Insurance Management Center in arranging courses, organizing lectures and exhibiting achievements, constructing a public art platform for the retired in community.
