On October 23, the 5th Academic Forum of New Vision for Lifelong Education was held by JSOU and Lifelong Education editorials. Cui Xinyou, president of JSOU attended the forum and gave an expertise report. Wu Kangning, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing Normal University, a member of the leading group of National Education Science Planning and social sciences commission of the Ministry of Education, Hou Huaiyin, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Shanxi University and more than 30 scholars from various institutes attended the forum as well.
Professor Cui Xinyou gave a lecture named Strategic Option of Development for Open Universities. His lecture begun with the construction process of open university at present, based on the task of lifelong learning for all, reviewed the development, difficult position and solutions for adult education and put forward the essential strategy of development for open universities. Cui also advocated that the public should express more support and help for adult education, career education and social education.
Professor Hou Huaiyin gave a lecture named Calling for Lifelong Education in the New Era. His lecture focused on three subjects, the construction of lifelong education subject in the new era, the unsolved problems in lifelong education subject and how to establish a lifelong education subject in the new era. He emphasized that people, as educators, should take their own academic tasks and promoted building lifelong education from all aspects.
The forum invited three hosts, Wu Feng, professor from Peking University, Xu Jing, researcher from Institute of Vocational Education Center, Ministry of Education, Sun Lixin, professor from Ningbo University. More than 10 scholars shared their academic achievements over the forum while professor Wu Kangning gave incisive comments on the reports.
