On October 19th, Wang Jianming, JSOU party secretary gave the freshmen of 2020 The First Ideological and Political Class. Deputy party secretary Jin Lixia, directors of Propaganda Department, Dean’s Office, Student Affairs Office, Youth League, all the instructors and teachers from School of Marxism attended the class.
Wang Jianming started the class with three points, to aim high, to learn well and to work honestly and sincerely. His abundant ideologies, simple words and vivid examples pointed out the college life direction for all the freshmen, and expressed high expectations for their future development.
To aim high, students should combine personal ambitions with country and people. Wang Jianming showed the great advantages of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the Chinese national identity and the responsibility of great powers in the concept of community of human destiny, in order to enlighten the students to cultivate the sense of mission and responsibility and integrate their personal pursuits into nation’s development and people’s need.
To learn well, students should cherish every minute. Wang Jianming encouraged students to learn Marxism and participate in professional practice, student associations, student activities and volunteer service so as to improve political literacy, professional skills and morality.
To work honest and sincere, students should enhance ability and be responsible. The world is experiencing profound shifts unseen in a century, while youth represents the future and hope of the nation. Wang Jianming emphasized that students should enhance the ability of management, communication, expression, innovation and competitiveness and learn from outstanding models.
If the road is blocked and long, the road will come; if the road is not stopped, the future can be expected. Students said that they would remember the first class and make youth meaningful through realizing the Chinese Dream.
