During the Spring Festival 2021, one of JSOU Kunqu Opera series courses, The Inheritance and Innovation of Kunqu Opera Performing Art was shot continuously. This course was another masterpiece undergraduate course after the national first-class course Kunqu Opera. JSOU invited the famous Kunqu Opera performing artist and national first-class actor Ku Jun to join the course.
General Secretary Xi Jinping once pointed out that traditional opera was the treasure of Chinese culture and the key to prosper the traditional opera industry lied in human. As the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Kunqu Opera, Master Ke Jun always kept his faith in passing on the tradition and highlights from opera, and spared no effort to expand the forms of promoting Kunqu opera. Traditional opera required inheritance as well as carrying forward. Master Ke Jun inherited the most traditional art in the avant-garde form, which inspired the ancient opera in the youthful vitality.
The course The Inheritance and Innovation of Kunqu Opera Performing Art is another attempt of Master Ke Jun. Through the production of online open courses, Master Ke Jun systematically summarized the theory of Kunqu Opera performance, making the skills which used to be taught through oral teaching academic and scientific. He also explored the modernization and sustainable development of traditional opera through the production of Kunqu courses.
Master Ke Jun sacrificed his leisure time to participate in the course construction and shot 12 hours a day in order to improve the production efficiency. His dedication, carefulness, focus and innovative spirit were fully reflected during the course construction.
In the recent years, JSOU has achieved fruitful results in carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, using Kunqu Opera series courses as a starting point. In the future, JSOU would continue to promote the construction of online open courses with professional spirit and create high-quality courses.
