On March 23rd, Sun Peisong, deputy dean of School of Design, together with 4 teachers from Media Design Department, Visual Design Department and Environment Design Department visited Yang Yugui Ancient Ceramic Art Museum in Nanjing Polytechnic Institute.
Yang Yugui Ancient Ceramic Art Museum locates in Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, the whole collection of which was all donated by Yang Yugui, an ancient ceramic collector. The museum has a rich collection of ceramic utensils, including ceramic vessels from the Neolithic period, the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the Qin, Han and the Three Kingdoms and the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Yang Yugui took the teacher to visit and explain the ceramic exhibits one by one.
Ceramics is cultural treasure and an important part of Chinese excellent traditional cultures. Yang Yugui ancient ceramic art museum studies the pattern and shape structure of ancient ceramic vessels to cultivate students’ creativity and innovation ability. It can be a rare training base for students from the School of Design. The visit laid a foundation for further exchanges and cooperation between JSOU and the art museum.
