From April 20 to 21, Gu Xinhua, standing committee member of JSOU Party Committee and secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection Office, and Zhang Xiao, JSOU vice president, led a team of more than 10 people to investigate and research in Lianshui County, which aimed to learn about the implementation of JSOU Plan of Improving the Academic Qualifications and Quality for 1000 Village (Community) Cadres in Lianshui. The team held a forum on teaching and enrollment with local departments, including Organization Department of Lianshui County Party Committee, Lianshui Open University and their students, so as to do a good job in the management of both degree and non-degree courses. Heads of Dean’s Office, School of Public Administration, Social Education Division, Enrollment and Cooperation School and Lifelong Education Credit Bank Administrative Center accompanied the investigation.
At the forum, the staff in charge of the Organization Department of Lianshui County Party Committee spoke highly of JSOU’s training for village (community) cadres in Lianshui. He introduced their current learning situation and looked forward to further cooperation in the future. Gu Xinhua and Zhang Xiao respectively delivered speeches on promoting Plan of Improving the Academic Qualifications and Quality for 1000 Village (Community) Cadres in Lianshui and deepening the cooperation in rural revitalization.
Gu Xinhua said that the JSOU had deepened the supply-side structural reform and set up courses related according to the facts in rural revitalization and the needs of village (community) cadres. After studying for more than half a year, the first batch of village (community) cadres achieved notable results. The improvement plan in Lianshui County had initially formed a set of paths that could be replicated and promoted. The trainees should be next expanded from village (community) cadres to grid administrators, large-scale grain planters and excellent farmers, so as to improve quality and efficiency of the plan.
Zhang Xiao said that JSOU had undertaken the responsibilities of social education and compensation for national education in Jiangsu. The plan could not be carried out without support from Organization Department of Lianshui County Party Committee and Lianshui Open University. She hoped that both sides could strengthen communication and cooperation in the future, deepening the implementation of the plan.
In Donghuji Town, Lianshui County, Heads of Dean’s Office, Social Education Division, Enrollment and Cooperation School and Lifelong Education Credit Bank Administrative Center, and teachers from School of Public Administration, had face-to-face discussions with representatives of open students, and answered their questions one by one.
