On April 15, JSOU held a meeting about the construction of Collaborative Innovation Base for Research on Grassroots Governance in Jiangsu. Cui Xinyou, JSOU president and chief expert of the base, attended the meeting. Wu Guanglin, JSOU vice president presided over the meeting. A total of 30 people attended the meeting, including dean of Science and Technology Division of JSOU , director and members of the base, and staff from other departments.
Cui Xinyou expounded the importance of grassroots research and base construction by telling 4 stories, pointed out that base should focus on grassroots and indicated the direction by taking green research as an example. Cui Xinyou raised 5 requirements on how to do a good job in constructing the base. Firstly, we should go out and make full use of the advantages of the school system to carry out field investigation. Secondly, it's necessary to push forward the crisscross mode of the work to get through the vertical links from provincial party committee and government to the rural areas, and the horizontal links among various departments, disciplines and schools. Thirdly, we should define the direction of the scientific research, constantly promote the reform in education evaluation, operation mechanism and optimize research team. Fourthly, we should accumulate research results and report them in academic forms. Lastly, persistence is vital in forming a brand of collaborative innovation base for grassroots social governance research in Jiangsu.

At the meeting, staff from Science and Technology Division introduced the base. Wang Yang, one of the major researchers in the base, reported the construction plan of the base. Ji He, director of the base office, indicated 3 tasks to be done in the next period. Zhou Xiaojun, dean of Business School, reported 9 selected issues and the following work plan. Other participants expressed ideas and suggestions on the base construction plan one by one.
