JSOU achieved a success at the 12th Jiangsu Provincial University Scientific Knowledge Challenge. 4 students won the second prize, 12 students won the third prize, and 76 people won the Excellent Award. Chen Yong, guide teacher from School of Information and Electrical Engineering won the title of Outstanding Organizer.
Jointly sponsored by Jiangsu Higher Education Society and the operating committee, the contest aims to fully implement the education policy of the Party and the country, put into effect the requirements of the State Council, improve the humanistic literacy of science and engineering students, cultivate innovative specialized talents to meet the needs of future social development.
A total of 88 universities and colleges, 72,851 students of the province participated in the competition. 496 students from JSOU registered for it, which showed a substantial increase compared with previous years. On May 23rd, the final and award ceremony was held in Jiangsu Education Channel. Shen Hong, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, received the honorary medal and certificate on our behalf.
JSOU have long been attaching great importance to the competition. The excellent achievements JSOU made proved the efforts devoted to reinforce general education, strengthen cultural quality-oriented education. JSOU would further train innovative talents and deepen educational reform through more competition.
