On the afternoon of July 12th, the 2021 Online Course Workshop with UKOU held by JSOU Human Resources Department and Discipline Construction Department started on time. The workshop this year is taught by 7 senior experts from the Open University, Ducan Banks, Mark Endean, Tom Olney, Martin Friel, Rob Moore, Kate Sturgess and Gerard Giorgi-Coll. 90 teachers from JSOU, its branch schools and Qinghai Open University attended the training on campus.

The workshop this year adopts the experience from last year, which optimizes the mode of combination of online livestream and offline translators. It is divided into 3 seminars with separate themes, namely Learning Design, Tutoring Skills and MOOCs Production. Considering the feedbacks last year, the workshop organizers not only provide useful learning materials and equipment, but also arranges teaching assistants, translators and class monitors for each seminar to continuously improve teachers' learning experience.

The Learning Design Workshop added the learning statistics analysis module, which would effectively improve the data analysis skills, enable teachers to have a direct and clear judgement of learning effect and make corresponding teaching changes.

Rob Moore, an experienced lecturer from UKOU, is invited to join the Tutoring Skills Workshop, which provides JSOU teachers with more opportunities to communicate and interact with experts. Online tutoring skills and the use of mind maps are also included into the workshop curriculum.

Kate Sturgess, a renowned presenter and photographer in the UK, is invited to join the MOOCs Production Workshop to give trainee teachers a chance to experience the skills of shooting interactively with students.

The three workshops are carried out in full swing every day. Participants are full of enthusiasm and vigor, and conscientiously learn the skills of tutoring, participate in the design of learning activities, and learn to shoot and make MOOCs videos. Many participants said they had gained a lot after the first week. Although the teachers come from different schools and departments, their original intention is to enhance online teaching skills and provide better teaching resources and education services for learners.
