Feng Yanke, a student from JSOU, won the second gold medal for China at Tokyo Paralympic Games in the Men's Sabre Individual Competition B class on August 25th. Feng Yanke won the glory for the country and now he is doubtlessly a live nametag of JSOU.
Feng Yanke, born in January 1988 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a member of the national and Jiangsu Wheelchair fencing teams. He is also a student majoring in social work at Lianyungang Open University in 2019.
Feng Yanke put on a graceful, dashing performance in his tough dialogue with Poland's Adrian Castro, the third-place player in Rio Paralympic Games, winning 15-11 with four straight goals after being tied 10-10 in the first half of the race. He won the gold medal of Men’s Individual Foil B class at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, and the bronze medal of Men's Individual Foil, Team Foil, Team Epee and Team Sabre at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta. He would attend Men’s Individual Foil on August 28th.
It is possible for athletes to complete their study in JSOU during their training. JSOU provides athlete learners like Feng Yanke with a limitless learning space, where they can enjoy the courses online and offline at the same time, making sure that they could take the training without interfering.
Zhu Ting, Feng’s tutor at Lianyungang Open University said that he attended the course two years ago. He has daily training in Nanjing and studies social work through the Internet in his spare time. Feng has a good attitude towards learning, completes his homework with high quality and gets good test scores.
In the Tokyo Paralympic Games, 14 athletes from JSOU participate in table tennis, fencing, weightlifting, track and field competitions. Before the games, JSOU Alma mater sent a letter to the Paralympic athletes to encourage them to achieve satisfactory results.
