Recently, Jiangsu Education Department published the 2nd batch of national first-class undergraduate courses recommended list, and the 1st batch of provincial first-class undergraduate courses. JSOU’s online and offline blending course, Marketing and Planning, was recommended to declare a national first-class undergraduate course while other 9 course, such as Kunqu Opera Music and Regular Script Techniques, were successfully selected as the provincial first-class undergraduate courses. The result marked the deepening reform in education and teaching and was also a major progress made in the construction of first-class courses.
In 2019, Ministry of Education issued the Implementation Opinions on Construction of First-class Undergraduate Courses. JSOU attaches great importance to the undergraduate course teaching quality construction, sets up new ideas in the curriculum construction, promotes curriculum reform and innovation through elaborate layout and active mobilization. In accordance with the construction standards, JSOU comprehensively promotes the standardization and quality of curriculum construction.
In 2021, 1,486 undergraduate courses (including 387 online courses, 425 offline courses, 347 online and offline blending courses, 78 social practice courses and 249 virtual simulation courses) have been recognized as the first batch of provincial first-class undergraduate courses. Among the 9 JSOU’s recognized courses, 8 are online courses. The result is closely related to the idea that JSOU advocates deep integration of information technology and teaching, and also lays a foundation for applying for provincial and national online and offline mixed courses and virtual simulation courses in the future.
JSOU will give full play to the leading role of online first-class courses, and carry out the cultivation and construction of all kinds of courses, so as to create first-class undergraduate courses suitable for JSOU’s needs.
