As the 37th Teachers' Day was approaching, Wu Zhenglong, Governor of Jiangsu Province, visited Lianyungang Open University on September 8th to express his greetings and high respect to educators in the new era on behalf of Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government.
In the 16th Paralympic Games which just concluded several days ago, JSOU students and alumni won 17 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in all.
Wu Zhenglong congratulated the staff and said that the athletes, winning honor for the nation, their hometown and school had challenged their limits and forged ahead with determination. Their achievements demonstrated the vigorous development in the undertakings of helping the disabled in China and superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. Of course, the achievements cannot be separated from the athletes' efforts and the teachers' guidance. It was the teachers' hard work that helped the Paralympic athletes pursue and realized their dreams. Therefore, he wished every teacher a happy holiday.
After asking what difficulties the teachers had, Wu pointed out that the disabled should not be left behind in the new journey of comprehensively building socialist modernization.
JSOU must resolutely implement related education policy, combining moral integrity into cultivation. Teachers should pay more attention to the disabled students and encourage them to be confident and independent, so as to help them live a strong life.
