On November 6th, JSOU held 2021 Alumni Homecoming Day in Yingtian Campus. JSOU leaders, former leaders, liaisons of the alumni associations, representatives of alumni, teachers and students participated in the event. The event was officially begun after 42 couples of alumni set foot on the red-carpet.
Wang Jianming, secretary of JSOU Party Committee, first extended his warm welcome and sincere congratulations to the alumni on their return. In his speech, he said that the alma mater paid close attention to and cared about the development of alumni all the time, while the alumni also repaid the alma mater with their achievements.
JSOU would follow the development strategy of Speed, Quality, Scale, Structure, Efficiency and Safety to promote the development of both JSOU and alumni. JSOU would always share weal and woe with alumni to pursue, build and realize dreams together.
Cui Xinyou, JSOU president, shared with alumni and guests the achievements of JSOU in recent years, from the aspects of student cultivation, scientific research, social service, inheritance and innovation of cultures, and the improvement of facilities.
In the past 42 years, JSOU had upgraded from Jiangsu Radio and Television University to Jiangsu Open University. JSOU provided opportunities and platforms for every learner who is willing to improve themselves and serve the society. In the 14th Five-Year-Plan Period, JSOU would build a new campus in Qiaolin, Pukou District, Nanjing, covering an area of 180 acres (1097 Chinese mu). All the branch agencies in JSOU system would contribute to build JSOU a university of people in Jiangsu Province, an irreplaceable university with distinctive characteristics.
Representatives of alumni, including a National Outstanding CPC Member, and several Paralympics athletes, expressed their deep gratitude for JSOU and their teachers.
Wang presented certificates to alumni and representatives of enterprises.
In the afternoon, the alumni clubs planned and organized various wonderful activities for returning alumni.
