On December 10th, 2021, the Second Student Congress of JSOU was held on campus.
Jin Lixia, deputy secretary of JSOU Party committee, Han Chenghui, derector of JSOU Organization Department, Ji Haiju, director of JSOU Propaganda Department and dean of Marxism School, Liu Tao, director of JSOU Student Affairs Office, other related leaders and members of the presidium of JSOU Student Union, together with 97 student representatives attended the congress. The congress was presided over by Sun Chengxi, a JSOU student.
The congress opened in the solemn national anthem. Jiangsu Student Union sent a congratulatory letter to the Student Union of JSOU, in which congratulations and expectations were expressed.
Jin Lixia addressed the conference. She, on behalf of JSOU Party Committee, expressed best wishes and keen expectations to the young students and key members in the Communist Youth League and Student Union.
At the first plenary meeting, Ding Yu, chairman of JSOU Student Union, delivered a report on the work of JSOU Student Union. Another chairman Liang Shuo, delivered a work report on proposals to the general assembly. Liang reported the amendment to the draft version of Student Union Constitution. After listening to the report, the representatives of each delegation discussed in 6 sub-venues respectively. Heads of the delegations summarized their opinions and reported the results of deliberation to the preparatory committee of JSOU Second Student Congress.
At the second plenary meeting, three reports were successfully reviewed. Student representatives elected members for the second term of Student Committee and presidium of the new Student Union. 6 candidates for the presidium of Student Union presented themselves to the representatives. After listening to the reports and reading the materials carefully, 97 representatives vote for the new presidium.
At the third plenary meeting, list of the second committee members and presidium members of the new Student Union were announced. Dong Qicheng, a new member of the presidium read out the Congress Proposal to the representatives, encouraging all JSOU students to strive to build a high-level Open University and contribute to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The congress ended with the song of Chinese Communist Youth League, Glory! Chinese Communist Youth League.
