To give full play to the advantages of JSOU in promoting rural revitalization, and actively undertake the responsibility of serving local economy, under the background that Pukou District has been selected in the first batch of National Digital Countryside Pilot Projects, on the morning of March 8th, the Information Construction Department of JSOU arranged a working symposium with Pukou Agricultural and Rural Bureau. Present at the symposium were: Yang Jilou, Director of Science and Technology Education Section of Pukou Agricultural and Rural Bureau, Wu Wenbiao, Vice President of Nongxin (Nanjing) Intelligent Agriculture Research Institute, Qian Qi, Director of JSOU’s Department of Teaching and Research, Hou Xinyu, Director of Science and Technology Division and Dean of School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Ji Haiju, Director of Publicity Department and Dean of Marxist College, Gan Fangqun, Dean of School of Environment and Ecology, Wang Xiaojun, Chief Engineer of Information Construction Department, Wu Jie, Deputy Director of Social Education Division, Huang Li, Associate Dean of School of Information and Electrical Engineering, Zhu Changchun, Associate Dean of Business School, and Wang Yang, Associate Dean of School of Public Administration.
At the beginning, Yang Jilou and Wu Wenbiao expressed their gratitude to JSOU for fully supporting the construction of digital countryside in Pukou District, and introduced the objectives and schedule of this symposium. Qian Qi said that the University will fully cooperate with Pukou District at all levels to help it blaze a trail of rural revitalization and development.
The research team from School of Public Administration then reported the phased research results of the project “Exploring the Reform of Digital Countryside Governance Mechanism in New Rural Communities”, and introduced the future implementation plan. After that, representatives from different departments and colleges spoke on the characteristics of their departments, research advantages, typical cases, and service lists in helping the development of digital countryside. In the end, Yang Jilou and Wu Wenbiao summed up the meeting respectively, and decided on the next stage of work and cooperation priorities.
Our university, as a system that serves the whole people’s lifelong learning progress and runs schools for the society in entire Jiangsu Province, has the gene and mission of serving the construction of digital countryside and rural revitalization. This symposium clarified the path and mode of our university in this progress, motivated us to deeply aggregate internal and external resources, and will become the opportunity to actively promote our university’s precise efforts in rural education, talent cultivation, and other related fields. JSOU will continue to promote rural revitalization strategy with quality, and help local governments seize the opportunities of digital economy development.
