To deepen the cooperation between JSOU and the industry, the School of Public Administration went to Pukou District and cooperated with Nongxin (Nanjing) Intelligent Agriculture Research Institute to carry out a series of research on the theme of digital rural governance.
On the morning of April 21st, Wang Yang, the Associate Dean of School of Public Administration, led the research team of Digital Rural Governance to participate in a research symposium on the new digital rural governance of Pukou District with the staff of relevant departments from Jiangpu Subdistrict and Nongxin Institute.
At the beginning of the symposium, Wang Yang briefly reviewed the previous research progress. The heads of relevant departments from Jiangpu Subdistrict shared their work experience in smart party building, smart old-age service, big data center construction, grid management, etc. according to the questions raised by the research team. After one and a half hours of in-depth communication, the research team had a clear understanding of the unique advantages of grass-roots governance in Jiangpu Subdistrict, which provided a reference for clarifying the geographical pattern of grass-roots governance in Pukou District and the characteristics of rural community types in suburban areas.
After the symposium, the research team went to the Jiangpu Subdistrict Big Data Command Center. Based on the top-level design concept of 1+5+N, the command center was built for data collection, analysis, research, and decision-making. Through the horizontal intercommunication and vertical interconnection of data, it not only solves the problem of repeated data filling and multiple data entry, but also avoids the common problems faced by digital governance such as data island and zombie system.
On the afternoon, the research team came to Tuanjie Community in Jiangpu Subdistrict and had a discussion with Secretary Rong, Secretary Zhu, and other staff members of the Community: Secretary Zhu introduced the current situation of digital governance in Jiangpu Subdistrict in an all-round way around the interview outline of the research team, and Secretary Rong shared the three major changes that Tuanjie Community has experienced as a transitional community with the research team.
On the morning of April 22nd, the research team investigated Tongxin Community and exchanged ideas with staff members there. They discussed in depth the implementation background of digital rural governance based on the characteristics of Tongxin Community, such as high urbanization level, high population density, and rich business atmosphere.
This field trip is the fifth stop of a series of surveys on digital rural governance of the School of Public Administration. The experience sharing of Jiangpu Subdistrict led to a new direction for the project development. Next, the School will focus on more specific type positioning of suburban rural communities in Pukou District, and detailed classification based on the basic situation of subdistricts and communities.
