To support students psychologically, enrich their campus life during the epidemic, and promote their physical and mental health, during the May Day holiday, each school and college went to student dormitories to carry out various interesting and rewarding activities.
At present, the campus is still under quarantine on holidays. In order to further implement the relevant work requirements of the school on epidemic prevention and control, schools and colleges carry out activities caring for students by visiting student dormitories, distributing fruits, and helping students with difficulties. In the dormitory, teachers had cordial exchanges with students, patiently answered the questions of epidemic prevention and control, online teaching, internship and employment, examinations and other issues students were generally concerned about, and learned about students' learning, life, and psychological adaptation. It is an important measure for the university to organically combine education, management, and service, and solidly promote ideological and political education for students on the closed-off campus.
Also during the May Day Holiday, with the aim of unity, cooperation, mutual learning, and common progress, schools and colleges advocated that students should take steps to exercise, strengthen their bodies, and enhance their friendship besides studying. The General Branch of the League of School of Environment and Ecology organized its Student Union and the League Group to carry out activities such as jogging, badminton games, volleyball games, among others; the School of Art and Health initiated the 21-day Sports Punch-in for students, and organized outdoor activities for them; the School of Information and Electrical Engineering held a short video contest of aerobics, so that students can enjoy sports anytime, anywhere.
Moreover, to further promote school culture and improve students' cultural literacy, taking the students' needs as starting point, schools and colleges carried out a variety of cultural activities. The School of Art and Health and the School of Media and Design gave full play to the advantages of League Group, and carry out an online knowledge contest of UIS of Jiangsu Open University; the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture and School of Media and Design organized full coverage of School Anthem teaching and singing through League Groups. Besides, the School of Media and Design arranged study of the history of the Party and reminded students the importance of fulfilling the Party’s original mission.
The prevention measures should not be slackened though the epidemic is coming to an end. Under the premise of epidemic prevention and control, JSOU will continue to guide students in extracurricular activities and promotes their all-round physical and mental development.
