A Teaching Competition for Young Teachers at Business School

On March 31, Business School held a teaching competition for young teachers in Room 304 of the complex building of East Dinghuaimen Campus. Chen Runchu, a teacher from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Hohai University, Associate Professor Zhang Yuyan and Sheng Xin from Business School were invited as the evaluation experts. Xu Yongbing, Vice Dean of the School, presided over the competition. Wang Qixin and Zhu Jun from the Department of Marketing Management participated in the competition. More than ten new teachers watched the competition online through the Tencent Conference.

In reference to the requirements of the Teaching Competition for Young University Teachers in Jiangsu Province, each contestant conducted a 20-minute class teaching demonstration. Wang Qixin and Zhu Jun selected the content of Service Marketing and Industrial Economics respectively for their display. 

After the demonstration, judges made comments in turn. Chen Runchu put forward detailed guidance from the perspective of knowledge point explanation, teaching design, PPT display, and case selection, and made suggestions for improvement. Zhang Yuyan shared her personal experience from the aspects of values education, content organization, teacher-student interaction, slides and blackboard writing design, extracurricular training, and improvisation.

Sheng Xin analyzed the competition criteria and the detailed rules for class teaching scoring one by one, fully communicating with the contestants in terms of achieving academic and enlightening purposes. 

Finally, Xu Yongbing summarized the competition, affirmed the contestants' wonderful job, and expressed his appreciation for their hard work as well as the judges’ wonderful comments.
