To speed up the smart construction and informatization of JSOU’s new campus, on the afternoon of May 31st, Vice President Geng Huantong and Chief Engineer of the Information Construction Department Wang Xiaojun, together with a delegation of six people, went to Nanjing Jishan Cloud Computing Data Center of China Telecom (Jishan Center) for research and study on smart campus. Other attendees include personnel from China Telecom Nanjing Branch.
On behalf of China Telecom Nanjing Branch, Li Donghua, Secretary of Disciplinary Committee, extended a warm welcome to JSOU’s delegation, and accompanied them to visit the computer room and integrated power cabinet of Jishan Center. Mr. Li introduced the Center as a national green data center based on environmental and low-carbon concepts, which adopts various digital technologies for operation and maintenance.
Afterwards, Vice President Geng listened to the introduction of development of Smart Campus Construction of China Telecom Nanjing Branch, before two sides made a special exchange on 5G technology, cloud network service capability, new infrastructure of Internet of Things and data center construction. Vice President Geng introduced JSOU’s school-running philosophy, basic situation and the construction of the smart new campus. He said that JSOU would seize the opportunity of new campus construction to make breakthroughs in new infrastructure, make use of strong technology and high-quality service advantages, and make sure that the information technology support can be a solid guarantee for building a high-level open university. The two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges on cooperative business such as campus basic network construction and student broadband service.
This investigation promotes partnership between our school and the telecommunications corporations. It also helps to further improve the operation level of our school's basic network facilities, and expand new technology research, development, and application.
