In light of fairness, openness and justice, the 2022 University-level Review for National Scholarship was held on October 10th at Room 406 of the Grand Hall, Yingtian Campus. This year’s selection of candidates displays the demeanor of students and promotes the whole university’s academic atmosphere.
The Review includes personal presentation and oral examination stages. After individual application, college-level recommendation, and university-level selection, a total of 8 students entered the final round. In the first stage, the candidates made a presentation from the aspects of ideology, academic achievement, scientific and technological innovation, arts and sports, social practice, etc. In the questioning session, the judges asked the candidates questions according to their presentations and application materials for a better understanding of the students’ performance in all aspects. The whole process was friendly and orderly, and every candidate presented a positive and enterprising spirit, setting an example for all students.
Qian Qi, Director of Department of Teaching and Research, made a summary on the Review. He praised the eight candidates as “outstanding in ideological and political quality, excellent in professional achievements, engaged in academic competitions, devoted in volunteer activities, and pioneering in the construction of campus culture”. He said he hope students can enjoy the process, accumulate strength in the process, and continue to play an exemplary role. At the same time, he encouraged other students on-site to constantly improve themselves by taking the candidates as an example.
The Review aims to provide a platform for students to learn from each other, to exert the “demonstration effect” of models, and to encourage and promote more students to compete, learn, catch up, and surpass, drawing strength from the models and leading the building of a better academic environment, so as to maximize the effect of “funding education”.
