On March 16th, the evaluation of candidates of Student of the Year and Counselor of the Year were held at JSOU’s Yingtian Campus. After individual application, school recommendation, and university review, three counselors and six college students were shortlisted.
In the exhibition and evaluation round, three counselors shared their work experience, personal achievements, educational effects, and other aspects with judges, showing the professionalism of counselors who took root in the front line. Six student candidates shared their typical deeds in academics, skill competition, social practice, voluntary service, etc., and demonstrated the outlook of college students in the new era with practical actions. In the end, Zhang Tiecheng, counselor from the School of Information and Electrical Engineering and Weng Yuan, an Internet of Things Application Technology major student from the same school passed the evaluation and will represent our university in the 13th provincial election.
Liu Tao, Director of Student Affairs, commented on the event by affirming the exemplary and leading role of excellent counselors in students' ideological and political education. He also sent a message to all students to forge ahead, build their dreams with confidence and a down-to-earth attitude.
This event fully demonstrated the high-spirited image of students and counselors in JSOU, and played a positive role in further improving ideological and political education on campus.
