On March 24th, JSOU held a symposium chaired by Dr. Daphne Chang on online teaching of open education, focusing on the management, assessment and motivation of teachers in the Open University of UK (OU). The symposium was held simultaneously online and offline, and more than 300 people attended.
Dr. Daphne Chang is the Regional Academic Staff, Senior Lecturer and Staff Tutor from School of Engineering & Innovation, OU, who is responsible for managing and supervising the teaching of undergraduate courses in the School. She has profound theoretical foundation and rich practical experience in teachers' management. In this lecture, Dr. Chang focuses on how OU effectively manages the team of teachers, and explains in detail the strategies and ways to establish a continuous incentive mechanism to improve the enthusiasm and creativity of teachers through specific cases. At the same time, she gave a detailed report on the relevant practices of OU in promoting the academic progress of teachers. After the lecture, Dr. Chang had further discussions and exchanges with staff members of JSOU on the entry and exit mechanism of teachers and the specific work of teachers.
This lecture is an important part of JSOU’s cooperation with the OU to carry out teacher training. It introduces the advanced practices and experiences of open education in the construction and management of teaching teams in the world, and helps all open universities in Jiangsu to update mindset and enhance international vision.
