From March 14th to April 17th, Vice President Geng Huantong led the staff from the Information Construction Department to hold five consultations around the first draft of the "518 Project" digital construction scheme.
The consultations include four sessions: introducing the background and purpose of the consultation; interpreting the first draft of the "518 Project" construction plan; exchanging ideas by participating departments focusing on the "518 Project"; giving a summary speech by Geng. This series of consultation is a key step to implement the "518 Project". As the backbone of digital construction, all functional departments should
take the Project as an opportunity to enhance the construction, and form a unique brand of digital education construction of our university.
The "518 Project" is the direction for JSOU to implement the digitalization of education, a profound grasp of the internal and external needs faced by the school in the new era. The project revolves around five construction modules, including “one road, one cloud, one library, one center and one base”, and eight digital platforms. Relying on digital technology, we will focus on the new blueprint of digital and intelligent JSOU and promote the university to be the pathfinder of a new type of university serving lifelong learning for all.
After the extensive consultations and communications, the main leading departments of the "518 Project" have reached a preliminary consensus on the construction connotation, development goals and main tasks. The existing problems, needs and development direction of digital construction in our school were also clarified, which provided a realistic basis for the detailed design of the "518 Project" and its actual construction.
