On September 18th, Xu Jijin, Director of the Jiangsu Communications Administration, and Dong Tao, Chairman of Jiangsu Institute of Communication, led a delegation to JSOU for discussion and exchange, and held the ceremony awarding JSOU as “Vice Chairman Unit of Jiangsu Institute of Communication”. The meeting was presided over by Jing Xuan, Secretary of JSOU’s Party Committee, and attended by Ding Rongyu, President, and other school leaders.
Jing Xuan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced JSOU from the aspects of its history, school-running characteristics, and teaching staff, saying that it is an important mission of JSOU to make the best use of modern information technology and promote educational modernization through educational informationization. He said that the university will deepen cooperation with the Jiangsu Institute of Communication, develop on the advantages of the institute, improve the school’s IT construction level, and build a platform for teachers to exchange and cooperate in scientific research.
Ding Rongyu said that universities should give full play to the advantages of IT and promote educational reform and innovation. We should actively adapt to the development trend of digitalization, networking and intelligence, work hard on data mining, and lead open education, social education and education for the elderly with digital means. It is necessary to strengthen cooperation with the Institute and communication enterprises, promote the transformation of digital intelligence, and take the construction of our new campus as an opportunity to build the benchmark of digital campus among open universities.
Xu Jijin said that the visit deepened their understanding of new universities such as JSOU, and would certainly promote further cooperation between the two parties in resource sharing, mutual complement, personnel support, academic research, and popular science. Dong Tao awarded the license to our school on behalf of the Institute.
Wang Yingzhi, Secretary-General of the Institute, introduced the development of the Institute. Vice Presidents Niu Yutao and Geng Huantong exchanged views on the construction of JSOU’s new campus, the informationization of the school, and the measures for further cooperation. Related departmental leaders and doctoral teachers also participated in the meeting.
