On October 14, 2023, the 25th Jiangsu Provincial Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Vocational Skills Competition took place at the Nanjing Platinum Hanjue Hotel. The competition, guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Hairdressing and Beauty Association and the Jiangsu Provincial Finance, Trade and Textile Union, attracted over a thousand participants from vocational schools and colleges across the province. The School of Arts, represented by Dean Huang Yilan, Vice Dean Wang Zheng, and faculty members from the Image Art Department, attended the competition to support the participating students.
The School of Arts attached great importance to this event, organizing and supporting the participation of students. After rigorous training and meticulous preparation, 11 students from Class 1 Grade 2021 of Character Image participated in the beauty project competition, which consisted of four modules. Director of the Image Art Department, Xia Xuemin, and professional teacher He Yu actively coordinated and arranged training sessions. Teacher Zhao Yuqin was responsible for guiding the competition, and the school invited Yao Shu, the president of the Nanjing Jihongtang Training School and an expert in the beauty project of the World Skills Competition, to provide one-on-one coaching. In the end, student Ning Tianyi overcame difficulties and demonstrated outstanding professional skills, winning the gold award in the beauty competition.
The School of Arts has participated in the provincial competition organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Hairdressing and Beauty Association for many years, gradually forming a mechanism of skill competition promotion and advancement with the motto learning through competition, creating excellence through competition. The results of the competition in recent years have been among the best in similar schools in the province, making positive contributions to the social reputation, professional influence, and talent cultivation of the major, the school, and the college.
