On March 25th, the 2024 Spring Campus Job Fair—China National Democratic Construction Association (CNDCA) Member Enterprises Special Session, co-hosted by the CNDCA Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the Jiangsu Provincial University Enrollment and Employment Guidance Service Center, was held at Jiangsu Open University’s Yingtian Campus. The job fair was attended by Hong Huimin, the Vice Chairman of CNDCA Central Committee, leaders from the Jiangsu Provincial Education Department and the Service Center, Ding Rongyu, JSOU’s President, Vice President Zhang Xiao, etc. The opening ceremony was presided over by Niu Yutao, Deputy Secretary of JSOU’s Party Committee.
Hong Huimin said that as a socialist consultative party with Chinese characteristics and closely connected to the economic sector, CNDCA is duty-bound to leverage its specialty and strengths to contribute to stabilizing employment, promoting development, and benefiting people's livelihood. Through this job fair, the CNDCA Jiangsu Provincial Committee is to establish a bridge between CNDCA member enterprises and college graduates, which not only enables-improves graduates’ quality employment, but also provides enterprises with a wealth of resources for selecting skilled and professional talents, realizing a win-win situation for both sides.
Ding Rongyu expressed his gratitude to the CNDCA Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the Provincial Education Department, while extending a warm welcome to the participating enterprises. He said that JSOU highly values united front work and, under the guidance of the CNDCA Jiangsu Provincial Committee, the CNDCA branch at JSOU, which earned the title of Outstanding Grassroots Organization of Jiangsu Province's Directly-Administered Units for the year 2023, has made notable contributions to advancing the university's development. This job fair fully leveraged the advantages of CNDCA's close connection with the economic sector and the vital role of private enterprises in promoting employment, providing a new approach for the university to explore united front work under new circumstances. JSOU places great emphasis on employment, and has carried out special actions to connect enterprises and expand job opportunities for students. For several consecutive years, the employment rate for graduates within open university system in Jiangsu has exceeded 95%, and for four consecutive years, JSOU has been rated as an A-grade university in the quantitative assessment of graduate employment. Ding added that this event will serve as an opportunity for the university and enterprises to continue to exert efforts in deepening cooperation and integrating industry and education, working together to support the high-quality employment of college students and the high-quality economic development of our province.
During the event, attending leaders and representatives from enterprises engaged in in-depth communication about talent cultivation, demand and changes in job vacancies, and industry-academia-research cooperation. They also randomly interviewed students about their employment intentions, encouraging them to seize opportunities, seek jobs based on their own strength, and strive to achieve early and quality employment. Graduates positively talked to their preferred companies and submit resume, many of whom reached preliminary agreements on the spot. At the job fair, a Job Express live broadcast activity was also held to provide online job recommendations for graduates across the province and for those from JSOU who could not attend the event in person.
A total of 56 companies participated in this job fair, offering 156 positions with plans to recruit 821 employees. The positions spanned various fields including education, computer science, finance, management, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, and more. Over 1600 graduates from JSOU and other universities attended the job fair. In recent years, our university has been oriented towards high-quality employment and entrepreneurship, expanding employment opportunities in multiple aspects and focusing on enhancing students' social adaptability, career development capability, and lifelong learning ability. Employers have maintained a satisfaction rate of over 95% with JSOU graduates for years, and the quality of talent training has been widely recognized by all sectors in the society.
