To advance the construction of the auxiliary police force and enhance the cultural literacy, educational level, and overall capabilities of auxiliary police officers, the Kunshan Auxiliary Police Academy, co-founded by Kunshan Public Security Bureau and Kunshan Open University, was officially launched on March 18th. Niu Yutao, Deputy Secretary of JSOU’s Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Niu Yutao said, to build the Academy well is not only the responsibility of Kunshan Open University, but also that of Jiangsu Open University. JSOU will fully support the construction of the Academy, striving to create a new model for the open university system to serve the society. He proposed four expectations for its future development. First, to cherish the opportunity, coordinate high-quality resources both inside and outside the university, and make the training of auxiliary police talents as a key task of the university; second, to implement diverse cooperation between the police and the university, building the Academy as a platform for police-school integration + quality and capability enhancement; third, to closely follow practical needs to improve training programs and optimize the curriculum, focusing on both theories and skills; fourth, to cultivate students' habits of self-directed learning and lifelong learning, and actually practice JSOU’s school motto, making learning a way of life.
Later, Zhang Lu, Secretary of the Party Branch of JSOU’s School of Marxism, gave the inaugural class of students a first lesson.
The establishment of the Academy is a key initiative by Jiangsu Open University relying on its school-running system. It has worked hard to explore serving the construction of a learning society and lifelong learning for people in Jiangsu Province. In the future, the university will continue to leverage the advantages of open education, constantly improve the quality and standards of education and teaching, promote the sharing of good platforms and quality educational resources, and serve the construction of Jiangsu Province's lifelong education system through multiple channels and various forms.
