The 11th Convention of Principals from Cross-Strait Higher Vocational Schools was held in Taiwan from April 15 to 18,2024. 65 representatives from 29 vocational colleges in Jiangsu and 78 representatives from relevant universities in Taiwan attended the conference. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President Ding Rongyu and Vice President Geng Huantong were invited. On the theme forum of "Integration and Innovative Application of Science and Technology in College Teaching", Ding Rongyu made a speech entitled "Innovation and Development of Digital Intelligence in Open Universities".
Ding Rongyu shared our practices and experience in the construction of digital intelligence university from three aspects: the profound connotation of digital intelligence innovation, the value of digital intelligence innovation and the promotion path of digital intelligence innovation. As a university with 150,000 students, JSOU is exploring the use of digital tools such as artificial intelligence, big data and the Internet of Things to promote personalized and collaborative learning to meet different learning needs. He stressed that the digital intelligence and innovative development of the Open University should also fit in with the needs of regional economic and social development, focus on construction of modern industrial colleges to provide intellectual support for enterprises, and help small and medium-sized enterprises to speed up the intelligent and digital transformation.
Ding Rongyu and Geng Huantong communicated with the leaders of Taiwan colleges and universities at the meeting, and signed cooperation agreements with Taiwan Longhua University of Science and Technology and China Medical University of Science and Technology.
Since the convention was initiated in 2013, the cross-strait cooperation and exchanges have been held in Nanjing, Wuxi, Taipei, playing an important role in the development of vocational education.
